The aim of the library project is to foster a love of books and reading in children. The school is currently part of a Wiltshire 'Reading for Pleasure' pilot study. This is a response to some major government research on reading for pleasure, which you can find here. (external web link). Here is our Reading for Pleasure policy. Click here to see details of how we teach reading.
We have a list of recommended books (click here to download). There are also good book lists produced by the Federation of Children's Book Groups. Click to download the lists. Going Solo (newly independent readers), Up and Running (fluent younger readers)

CONGRATULATIONS to all who took part in the 2015 Calne Library Summer Reading
Challenge. We had 79 children who completed the challenge. This is 39% of the school, almost
double the participation rate of any other school in the Calne area.
